Yes! After a few months of no word, Nintendo has just released the guidebook for the fourth game! The cover of the book uses the same cover as the game, so it might be a little confusing when trying to order it. Luckily, we have links for you!

Information on the book itself:
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/r4zj/book/index.html
http://www.bookshop-ps.com/bsp/bsp_detail?isbn=9784091064288

OTHER NEWS

Meanwhile, Reggie has been giving weird mixed signals. Reggie has told IGN that publishing the game in the US is a 'we'll see' during their online podcast. He's told other game news editors that 'they'd have to speak to the publisher' about it.

In fact, Play Magazine has an article in this month's issue speaking about how the game is so scary, even its publisher won't dare speak it's name. The article goes ON to mention that Tecmo and Ninteno are playing an evil game of hotpotato concerning who is publishing the game.

(However, just as confirmation, Nintendo JAPAN did in fact publish the game in Japan and is credited with it).

There hasn't been any more news about the release date, for the US or Europe at this time, but we're not giving up here at BCL AND we will have lots of new information and our older articles back up ASAP!

(Including scans of the new guidebook! As soon as it comes to our doorstep!) [ ]

Long of the short, Edge Magazine reviewed Fatal Frame IV in their most recent issue. They ended up giving the game an overall 8 (on a scale of 1-10!).

Ironically, Edge Magazine didn't include the game on their website for their Genre Wars article (specifically since they mentioned several of the other Survival Horrors that have yet to make it to our gaming consoles) [ ]

Sorry for the late updates with Amano! I've been so focused on getting the website updated that I had forgotten all about her Zero Album! (Plus, Ike hitting the states caused my area to have massive power outages, yours truly lost power for about 3 days or so!)

SO! Updates!
If you haven't checked out Amanotsukiko.com lately, Just Call My Name (ie Zero no Chouritsu)'s music video has a preview up on the main site!
If for some reason you cannot view it, the preview is also on youtube.

You can listen to the full English version of the song here: English version of Zero No Chouristu

Zero, Amano Tsukiko's final (*tear*) solo album has been released!! Please buy it if you can! She's also doing a promotion tour for the album as well! If you're in Japan, I suggest you go and see her!

NOISE was not included on the Zero album. Amano Tsukiko said they she felt the song didn't fit the rest of the songs on the album, so kept it off. (The ENGLISH version of Zero no Chouritsu is on the album)

Translations: (because people have been asking)
*Zero no Chouritsu (Japanese) : English lyrics | Romanji | Japanese
*Zero no Chouritsu (English version): English lyrics by KP-X
*NOISE English lyricsby Duncan | Romanji by Misaki | Japanese

I'll add the rest as I find them.

In FATAL FRAME IV news, Noise to Review writer Julian Hazeldine wrote a pretty great review of the fourth game. I have to say this is one of the better reviews I've read and pretty thorough about the series as a whole! JUST as a warning, the review is FILLED WITH GAME SPOILERS. So don't click if you don't want to be spoiled!

You can find the review here! [ ]

The Downloads section of the Zero: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse website has finally been updated! On it, are a couple of wallpapers for your computer and cellphone. (Sadly, it seems only Japanese residents are able to access the service to aquire the cellphone wallpapers).

The Movie section of the site was also updated, and you can now listen to Amano Tsukiko's Zero no Chouritso single.

Check out the website!

Scores
NGamer from the UK has released a review/preview of Fatal Frame IV. They give the game a score of 90%:
Graphics: 8
Audio: 10
Gameplay: 7
Innovation: 7

Fatal Frame IV in general
I am working on getting the FFIV section of the site updated, finished and up asap. There's a LOT... (especially when you consider pictures of accessories, costumes, some of the puzzles, solutions, etc) The BCL forums have a lot of helpful tips and information by people (besides me) playing the game, so if you're stuck, check them out!

For information about characters in the game (and stuff about the fourth game and the other games in the series in general) a LOT of that information has already been filled out/discussed indepth over at the Zero Wiki.

THE RELEASE DATE
There has been _no_ official release date released for Europe or the USA. Sites that are posting a 'guess' of December 31st, 2008 or November 2008 are just GUESSING for the moment.

Again, when I do find out the release date, I shall update the site with this information. :) [ ]

This is a few days old (sorry ^_^;; ). Tecmo announced on Sept 4th (the deadline Square Enix had given them) that they were going to turn down Square's bid ($206 million!) and instead take up merger talks with a previously unknown bid by Koei. Koei is most famous for its Dynasty Warriors Series (as well as Samurai Warrior Series spinoffs).

Tecmo's new president Yasuharu Kakihara had this to say about the Koei/Tecmo talks.

"Through a merger, we expect we can grow further by respecting both companies' identities and having an environment in which employees can fully exhibit their skills," the two companies said in a joint statement. .

There is talk that Square Enix isn't out of the game, as they seem to be investigating the terms of Koei's proposal. but Kakihara is on record to have said he will not accept another bid by Square.

In a way, this is good, because Tecmo is still seeking to keep its identity and still merge with another company...where in the Square Deal it most likely won't. There was also concern amongst fans if Fatal Frame/ Project Zero would be effected, since most articles relating to Square's proposal only mention its action games (DOA and Ninja Gaiden series.).

Yoichi Wada seemed to be annoyed that Tecmo didn't take Square's 'friendly bid' saying:
"If they truly dislike Square Enix, there is no point. All [game] creators would leave the firm the moment the deal was done. It would be the equivalent of buying a building."

;_; A Tecmo without Kikuchi-san or Shibata-san?! No WAY!! Unthinkable!

Square even went so far as to ask Tecmo WHY they weren't accepting their bid?! (Wasn't this supposed to be a 'friendly offer?' ... )
Kotaku has the full story on that. Again, interesting, it seems as though Square simply assumed Tecmo would take the bid...but Tecmo does have a point, the company gave them very little time to discuss the merger with their shareholders...and the proposal doesn't give them a lot of information concerning how the company will be integrated into the already massive Square Enix.
