Twin law

From ZeroWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

In the game Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly, Seijiro Makabe makes a reference to the newly established Twin Law - December 13th, 1874, created by the government.

The law states that the firstborn twin is considered the eldest, while the second born twin is considered the younger. Before this law was established, it was up to the local governments of each village to decide the elder/younger.

In the example of the Minakami Village, they believed that the elder twin allowed the younger twin to be born first, since the younger twin was weaker while the elder twin was stronger and could survive in the womb longer. When Seijiro prompts Ryokan Kurosawa, the leader states they continue to follow the old traditions.

Misc Info

  • In Meiji Period Japan such a law was made decreed by Nichinichi January 14th, 1875 in response to settle inheritance disputes.
