Concerning Akito's camera, I was watching a Japanese playthrough of FF3 and when the player's reading Purple Diary 1, she distinctly says "Shaeiki" (about 4.30 on this video). Would that mean that Akito's camera was definitely a Camera Obscura, or is Shaeiki a more generic word?--Elwing 13:02, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

It's not generic. I haven't found any mention of it outside of this series yet (the closest I've found is 写真機 and there's no real comparison). It might be confirmation, in a way. I can't say anything for sure, other than it's not a generic term at all.
