Serizawa's story is relayed through two tapes found by Kei Amakura in Fatal Frame III. These tapes are marked as: "Manor of Sleep Recordings: Case A" and "B". Although her fate is not revealed in the game, it is safe to assume she became another victim to the Manor of Sleep's curse.
Shortly after her mother's death, Serizawa had a dream. In the dream she was outside the Manor of Sleep, where she saw what she described as a sort of funeral procession heading towards an old shrine located in the manor. In this procession, she saw her mother. She called out to her but received no response. Her mother continued with the others towards the old shrine and just before the door to the shrine was about to close behind the procession, Serizawa entered as well. She only entered the shrine a little, believing that if she went in too far she wouldn't be able to go back. All she wanted to do was see her mother.
Every night after that, Serizawa would have the same dream about the big, quiet manor. Every time she woke up from the dream her tattoo spread and the pain she felt increased.
During the time she was cursed, someone recorded her experiences on tape. Kei later found this testimony and forwarded it to Yuu Asou, asking him to listen to it.
