Fatal Frame IV Character
The mysterious girl in black from Misaki's memories, who calls her back to Rougetsu Island. It is Miya who Misaki chases after on the island, trying to find out who she is.

Past

As a child staying on Rougetsu Island, Misaki Asou established a strong friendship with Sakuya Haibara, who would later give her Miya, a doll that wears a black dress, as a gift.

After the two were separated by the staff, Misaki was left alone. She started treating Miya as a human and her best and only friend, carrying the doll everywhere with her. Misaki would speak with Miya and sleep with Miya in her bed; everywhere Misaki went, Miya went too.

Misaki held onto Miya even when she was kidnapped to perform the ritual. She accidentally dropped Miya on the stage and couldn't go back for her. Later, Sakuya awoke from her dream and learned that Misaki was no longer at the island, discovering the abandoned doll.

Fatal Frame 4

After a 10 year period, Sakuya decided to bring Misaki back to the island. To do so, she took on the appearance of Miya to attract the teenager and guided Misaki through Rougetsu Hall, toward her lost memories.

In Misaki's final chapter, the truth about Miya is revealed. Sakuya turns back into the human form of Miya that Misaki had been following, and returns the doll Miya had left behind all those years ago. Misaki starts crying, as Sakuya regains her normal form. The two embrace, as Sakuya smiles before disappearing and Misaki suddenly collapses to the ground with the doll in her arms, unmoving.

The End?

First Ending

Like Misaki, Miya's fate is unknown.

Second Ending

In the second ending of the game, unlocked after beating Hard mode, Misaki wakes up on the ground, still holding Miya. As Misaki spots the ghost of Madoka, Miya is shown left lying on the ground as Misaki rushes to her friend, the two talking briefly before Misaki watches her disappear.

Misc. Info

  • Miya's name is composed of the first character of "Misaki" and the last character of "Sakuya". Misaki gave her this name so that she could feel as though she and Sakuya were always together.
  • During Chapter 9, Ruka arrives at the stage where Miya was left; although the doll is clearly visible, Ruka does not acknowledge her.
