Long Arms

Long Arms was a member of the Himuro family that lived some time prior to Kirie's Strangling Ritual. How long before the Calamity he lived is never mentioned. It is safe to assume, however, that it was at least 20 years prior to Kirie's sacrifice.
Long Arms had a daughter that he deeply cared for. Some time after his daughter was above the age of 7, they travelled to Himuro Mansion to take part in the Demon Tag Ritual, performed every 10 years. All members of the Himuro family were obligated to show up and have their daughters take part in it. The purpose of the ritual was to select the next Rope Shrine Maiden and Blinded Maiden.
Unfortunately, Long Arms' daughter was the last one caught in the game, which meant she was to be the next Rope Shrine Maiden. She would be taken away from her family and confined for approximately 10 years before being sacrificed, and Long Arms would never see his beloved daughter again. Long Arms was incredibly upset about this outcome and probably tried to stop the other members of the family from taking her away. What happens to Long Arms and his daughter is never mentioned. His daughter, however, most probably went on to become sacrificed as a Rope Shrine Maiden.
After Long Arms' death his spirit was unable to rest in peace. His spirit returned to Himuro Mansion; longing for his daughter, he endlessly searched for her. When he came across a child, he would often mistake them as his daughter and try to take them with him.
One day, many years after his death, Mikoto Munakata and her friends were playing a game of Demon Tag in the mansion. Her friends hid while she sought them out. Long Arms found each of her three friends before she did and dragged them away to their deaths.

- It is not known why Long Arms' arms are so long.
