Please remember to put Fatal Frame Remake items, people, locations, etc in the Category: Deep Crimson Butterfly.
Help:Images
From ZeroWiki
This is a basic guide to using images on the 零Wiki as well as image policy. All image files within the wiki must be obtained either by scanning in images or screenshots from the game by wiki users/editors. Files used without permission will be taken down.(So don't randomly grab images off the web you saw on someone else's webpage, blog, etc! :) You will need their permission to use them if you do and if you do get permission, you _must_ credit the original owner in the image text).
Without saying, all images MUST be from the Fatal Frame/Project Zero Franchise. Artwork/Fandrawn/Doujin images of characters are not permitted as acceptable images and should NOT be used on the wiki save for user pages.
Image Requirements
Character/Ghost Bios
There are currently three acceptable ways of illustrating ghosts/characters in the wiki. Whenever possible, the first way should be used at all times. If full body images of a character become available, then they should replace lesser versions of the character already in place.
- 1. Profile w/ Full Body Image
- For character bios, in this wiki it is preferred (when possible) to use conceptual artwork of the characters & ghosts (and/or full body renders). Best case scenario is a nice quality image showing a profile and full body image.
- 2. Screenshot/Ingame photograph
- If a full body picture/artwork is not available, then a in-game screenshot of character/ghost is sufficient. Or, as in the case of Akito Kashiwagi, you may use the illustrated photograph of the character.
- 3. Default Bio image
- If the character is merely mentioned and has never been illustrated, then the default male/female bio picture should be used as a placeholder. You should use either or
Locations/Events/Rituals etc
There are two ways of illustrating locations/events/rituals
- 1. Screenshot/Artwork
- High quality screenshot or artwork that best illustrates the location, event, ritual, etc. These images should be shown at no larger than 300px in size in the article.
- 2. Blank placeholder
- Blank placeholder written in like this: This should only be used until a suitable image can be used to capture it.
Items/Notes/Functions/Lenses etc
There are two ways of illustrating the above.
- 1. Screenshot/scan
- High quality screenshot or scan of the above. Image sizes can vary a little on this, but do not make them TOO BIG. In cases where the same item has been illustrated differently (for example, the designs of most of the standard health objects, films, etc. were redone in Fatal Frame IV), all versions should be shown in respect to their specific games. Example: Equipment "Measure" separates and illustrates the different function designs for each of the games.
- 2. Blank placeholder
- Blank placeholder written in like this: . It should be used until a suitable image is found.
Groups
The 零Wiki does have a few instances of articles that describe particular groups of people (for example, Spirited Aways and Rope Shrine Maidens). In this case, there are two ways of illustrating the groups. Either way is acceptable.
- 1. Illustration/Screenshot
- Image can be a high quality scan, illustration, or screenshot displaying the group and illustrating the concept behind them. In the example of Spirited Aways, Masumi & Miyako are shown desperately running through Minakami Village in hopes of finding a way out.
- 2. Fullbody Group Image
- Image can be similar to a character/ghost bio picture in showing the various full body examples of what the character grouping looks like. This example is better used in cases of group ghosts such as People Killed and Kusabi.
Extra Images
In some articles, extra images are shown to illustrate specific things that occurred in relation to the article. These pictures should be thumbnailed at 100px and used sparingly.
Linking to external files
External files (IE files NOT on www.cameraslens.com) is prohibited. Do not direct link images from other websites. All files used in the wiki should be uploaded to the wiki. Use the upload option to do so.
Uploading Images to the Wiki
Quick dirty guide for uploading images to the wiki:
THINGS ABOUT THE IMAGES YOU UPLOAD
- Images should be high rez/clear and large. (Don't go overboard on size, but tiny images you can't even see aren't helpful either.)
- Images should either be from an official source OR captured BY YOU. Taking images from another fan website or blog is WRONG. So don't do it!
- Images need to come from an official source or screen capture. Fan artwork should NOT be used for images within the wiki.
- Images can only be (name).png, (name).jpg, (name).gif or (name).jpeg. BMP images, tiff, etc cannot be uploaded.
Uploading
- Go to Special:Upload.
- You can only upload pictures that are on your computer (in other words, you cannot submit URLs for upload).
- Select the 'browse' button and find the image on your computer.
- For Destination Filename you may wish to change the name. For example: zero05.jpg might be better named as: Keiamakurabio.jpg
- Insert a summary, which should be a description of the picture itself. Be sure to use link tags, ie "Kei Amakura's bio picture from Fatal Frame III." If you have obtained permission to use the image from another party, be sure to add their name in the summary as well.

Syntax
The full syntax for displaying an image is:

Where options can be zero or more of the following, separated by pipes:
thumb, thumbnail, frame, orframeless: Controls how the image is formattedleft, right, center, none: Controls the alignment of the image on the pagebaseline,sub,super,top,text-top,middle,bottom,text-bottom: Controls the vertical alignment of the image on the page{width}px: Resizes the image to the given width in pixels- Special cases:
-
page=1: Displays the specified page when showing a djvu file
-
link={destination}: Allows to link to an arbitrary title, URL or just nowherealt={alternative text}: For changing the alternative text (alt="") of an image
The options can be given in any order. If a given option does not match any of the other possibilities, it is assumed to be the caption text. Caption text can contain wiki links or other formatting.
