A horrible car accident involving Rei Kurosawa and her fiancé, Yuu Asou. During a stormy evening in July 1988, Rei - who was driving - ended up crashing the car on a turn through a guard rail causing the automobile to turn over. Rei was miraculously thrown from the car and suffered minor injuries. However, Yuu was killed by the impact.
Because of this incident, Rei began to suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and became susceptible to the Tattooed Curse.
